He is survived by: his former wife Alice Gonzalez; and his children, Patricia Lorraine Collins Patterson, James Michael Collins and Jean Cheryl Collins. He is also survived by his children, stepchildren, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
