He was predeceased by: his parent Dossie Shields; and his siblings, Lomie Roper, Helen Mike, Inez Shields Mention, Lillie Mae Shields Gaskin and Leon Shields.
He is survived by: his wife Louise Lovett Shields of Savannah; his children, Annette Moss (Bobby) of Powder Springs, GA, Willie Roy Shields, Jr. (Brenda) of Wrens, GA, James Frank Shields (Katrina) of Wrens, GA, Mack D. Shields of Thomson, GA, Ronnie Sanders (Nadene) of Sylvania, GA and Sherman Lovett (Katoria) of Statesboro, GA; his siblings, Sandra Norman (Melvin) of Lincolnton, GA and Hardwick Shields; and his siblings-in-law, Carolyn Shields of Savannah, GA, Joenathan Lovett (Henrietta) and Rolton Lovett (Patricia). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (5 Birkenhead Rd, Savannah, GA 31407). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church (2020 Tennessee Ave, Savannah, GA 31404).
