It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Lee Stanford Sr. (Savannah, Georgia), who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Janet Eubanks Stanford and Walter Elmer Stanford; his sister Janet Sandra Stanford Bass; and his children, Allan F. Parker Stanford, Christina Stanford and Laura Stanford Schaffner.
He is survived by: his sister Bonnie Stanford Carter; and his children, Walter Lee Stanford Jr., Jonathan Eubanks Stanford, Joe Sauls III and Amanda Stanford LeBlanc. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel (4605 US-80, Savannah, GA 31410). A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Greenwich Cemetery (330 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404).
