He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Ward and Dorcas Ward. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ward; his daughters, Stephanie Danielle Ward (Kevin Pryor), Courtney Ward (Duncan Beerman) and Ashley Robinson (Carlos Robinson); his siblings, Melanie Edwards (late Sam), Phyllis Weil (Arthur), Beth Smith (Terry Brennan) and Mark Ward; his grandchildren, Trevon Brown (Morgan), Justin Brown, Carleah Robinson and Kora Ward; and his great grandchild Millie B. Brown. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel (4605 US-80, Savannah, GA 31410). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, July 13th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
