He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roland Roy McCormick Sr. and Irma Clair Hurst McCormick; his wife Virginia "Irene" McCormick of Savannah; his children, Roland R. McCormick III of Savannah and Mary E. McCormick of Savannah; his siblings, Richard E. McCormick (Donna) of Townsend and Jacqueline Claire King (Trey) of Savannah; and his grandson Kaleb McCormick Webb.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Dr, Savannah, GA 31406). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery (8819 US-301, Glennville, GA 30427).
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Isle of Hope Baptist Church, Building Fund, 22 Rose Avenue Savannah, Georgia 31406, Coastal Amatuer Radio Society, Post Office Box 15552 Savannah, Georgia 31416 or to a Veterans organization of your choice.
