He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Edward and Rose Keenan Carufel; his wife Elizabeth McCall Carufel; and his grandson Nathaniel Carufel. He is survived by: his children, Krista C. Tompkins (Tommy) of Savannah, Carlie C. Baccus of Midway, GA, John Weatherford (Diane) of North Augusta, SC, Richard M. Carufel, Jr. of Savannah, GA, Timothy Carufel of Pittsboro, NC and Michael Carufel of Savannah, GA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel (4605 US-80, Savannah, GA 31410). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Greenwich Cemetery (330 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404).
