He is survived by: his wife Ruth Mincey Markowitz; his children, Scott Cary Markowitz, Lisa Markowitz Henderson (Trevor) and Brian Reid Markowitz (Amy); his grandchildren, Pierce Markowitz (Lindsey), Hayley Markowitz (Mark Bertagna), Hayden Markowitz, Reid Markowitz, Evan Markowitz, Cole Kitchens and Hannah Kitchens; his great grandchildren, Aniston, Bennett and Hudson; and his sister-in-law Peggy M Schulz (Jack).

Remembrances may be made to Congregation Mickve Israel, or Benedictine Military School.
