He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Murray, Sr. and Ethel Mae Murray; his son John Anthony "City" Williams; and his brother Larry Murray. He is survived by: his daughter Diane Devida Murray; his friend Arleda Bowman; his stepchildren, Beverly Carswell, Connie Kelly (Dennis), Antonio Bowman of Savannah, GA, Louis Bowman (Shalontia) of Savannah, GA and James Bowman of Savannah, GA; his siblings, Earnest M. Murray Jr., James Murray of Savannah, GA, Ernestine Steed and Rochelle McCombs of Savannah, GA; and his cousin George Rhett Jr. (Alice) of Newington, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Viewing was held on Sunday, October 27th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (5 Birkenhead Rd, Savannah, GA 31407). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Greater Gaines Chapel AME Church (1006 May St, Savannah, GA 31415).
