She was predeceased by: her parents, John W. Sherrod and Alice Grissette Sherrod; her siblings, John W. Sherrod Jr. and Joyce Horne; and her son-in-law James E. Strong.
She is survived by: her children, Edward M. Gay Jr. (Sheryl) of Savannah and Fran Perrault-Strong of Athens; her siblings, Marion Clark of Snellville, Lynn Wilson of Rincon and Ricky Sherrod of Midway; her grandchildren, Sara Cozart (Joe) of Okinowa, Joshua Gay (Rainey) of Richmond Hill and Taylor Perrault of Athens; and her great grandchildren, Ben Cozart, Danny Cozart and Franklin Gay.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Bonaventure Cemetery (330 Bonaventure Rd, Savannah, GA 31404).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Good Sisters of Bull Street Baptist Church at 1400 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
