He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Samuel Espy III, Troy Millikan Espy, Stuart Helvenston Espy and Blake Rothwell Espy; the mother of his children Kathy Espy; and his sister Penny Tillman of Asheville.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bonaventure Cemetery (330 Bonaventure Rd, Savannah, GA 31404).
