She was predeceased by: her parents, George H. Weeks and Louise R. Weeks; and her brother Carl David Weeks. She is survived by: her husband James "Jimmy" Gunter; and her children, James Wade Gunter (Kendall) and Joy Fennell (James).

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel (2794 US-80, Garden City, GA 31408). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bible Baptist Church (4700 Skidaway Rd, Savannah, GA 31404).
