He was predeceased by: his mother Nell Ellis Brown. He is survived by: his wife Janice Oliver; his children, Dana L. Brown, Jr. (Laura) and Erin Wilcoxon (James); his grandchildren, Sterling, Lorelei, Genevieve Brown, James and Ethan Wilcoxon; and his siblings, Sandra Boyd of Ellabell and Richard Brown (Michele) of Townsend. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Police Benevolent Association of Georgia.
