He was predeceased by: his mother Eleanor McCumber Ashman; his stepfather Fred P. Oliveros; his father Robert William Ashman Sr.; and his brothers, Kenneth M. Ashman and Robert W. Ashman Jr. Dale.
He is survived by: his wife Leigh Gordon Ashman; his son Eric McGuire Ashman (Rachel) of Warner Robins; his grandchild Lindsay Stuart Ashman of Savannah; his nieces and nephews, Krista, Laura, Lisa, Eleanor, Whitney, Chelsea, Robb and Christopher; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Ashman of Savannah, Sherry Gordon Minnich of Lake Toxaway, N. C., Kinzie Gordon and Dana Gordon Lane (Tom) of Savannah.
