With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Allen Q. Poppell Jr. (Savannah, Georgia), who passed away on June 24, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hallie "Sweetheart" Poppell, and Rev. Allen "Pop" Poppell, Sr.; his brother David Poppell, Sr.; his sister-in-law Joan Poppell; and his grandson Jake.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Poppell; his children, Janice Roberts (John, Jr.) and Chris Poppell (Sarah); his brothers, Johnny Poppell (Paula) and Gene Poppell, Sr.; his sister-in-law Carolyn Poppell; his grandchildren, Matthew, JD (Heidi), Hart, Krista, Cierra and Anslee; and his great grandchildren, Ivory and Oaklyn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

“Nancy and Family, just this morning I found out about Allen's passing. I am so sorry for your loss and the loss to our Malphrus Family. Allen will be greatly missed at the family events in the future. I know he is present with the Lord. He served Him well his whole life. He is also present with Aunt Hallie, Uncle Pop, and David (and getting to know his stillborn grandson Jake). The Poppell Brothers quartet has become a duet, hear on earth and in heaven, but not for long. Rest in Peace”
