It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Almeida Godbee of Sardis, Georgia, born in Warwick, Rhode Island, who passed away on June 16, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Harry E. Godbee, Jr.; her parents, Manuel Almeida and Mary Lima Almeida; her siblings, Augustus Almeida and Delia A. Manzi; her son-in-law R. David Hillis; and her great grandchild Brittani Young.
She is survived by: her children, Diane G. Hillis of Jonesboro, GA, Elizabeth G. Jackson (Larry) of Girard, GA and Thomas E. Godbee (Tommy) of Dalton, GA; her grandchildren, Teresa H. Young (Scott), Richard Hillis, Patricia H. Nyman (Walt), Dominee J. Thomas (Johnny) and Jason Jackson; and her great grandchildren, Haley Young, Jacob Hillis, Tucker Nyman, Auburn Nyman, Dylan Thomas and Megan T. Martin (Zach).
