He was predeceased by: his parents, George Marion Meeks and Irene Brown Meeks; and his siblings, Troy Meeks, Betty Thackery and Earl Meeks.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Turk Meeks; his children, Becky Durham (Dan) of Greensboro and Joe Meeks of Sandersville; his grandchildren, Daniel Durham (Kensley) and Dana Janes (Peyton); his great grandchildren, Walker Durham, Ellie Jo Durham and Aaron "A. J." Janes; and his siblings, Mack Meeks (Charlotte) of Amelia Island, FL, George Meeks (Lois) of Winder and Elaine Adams of Harrison.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Mr. Meeks' memory to Sister's Baptist Church 1807 E. McCarty Street, Sandersville, Ga. 31082.
