It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lee Hudson Avant Sr. of Sandersville, Georgia, who passed away on April 26, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Avant, Jr., June Vigilione (Tony), Frances Holmes (David), Marguerite Roberts (Winfred) and James Avant (Geneva); his brother-in-law Doug Samples; his son James Binion "Benny" Avant (Sheila); his sons-in-law, Jimmy Williams and John Barker; his wife Joanne Wicker Avant; his sister Faye Samples of Suwanee; his children, Terri Barker, Lee Avant (Kelli), Toni Durkin (Ralph), Jo Lynn Still (Andy) and Grace Meyers (Tom); his grandchildren, Jess Williams (Leslie), Leanne McGowan (Chris), Jessica Avant, Jamie Avant, Amy Albright (Chris), Hudson Avant (Rachel), Ben Avant, Laura Woodard (Travis), Regan Durkin, Drew Still, Dean Bickham and Jordan Bickham; and his great grandchildren, Gambill Williams, Maggie Williams, Abe Williams, Charlie Hancock, Tucker Hancock, Annalee McGowan, Lillie McGowan, Henry McGowan, Austin Albright, Wyatt Albright, Tori Albright, Noah Avant, Lillie Meier, Georgia Avant, Harrison Woodard and Emma Grace Woodard.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“It was always a pleasure talking to Mr. Hud. When I was a kid I would walk down to the Dairy Lane from my dad's animal hospital and Mr Hud would always talk to me and ask me how my mom and dad were doing. He was one of the hardest working men that I new when i was growing up and i always looked up to him and every time i talked to him he made me smile.He was part of my life growing up, such a wonderful man. i know his wife,children, and grandchildren will miss him dearly.
