He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Pickens and Joanne Pickens; his brother Stanley Pickens (Linda); and his son Chad Pickens. He is survived by: his daughters, Brandy Paul and Scarlett Clark (Richie); his sisters, Lynn Patterson and Martha Patrick; and his nephews, Keith Patterson (Cristan) and Kenneth (Tina).
