He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Stella K. Wilson and Bill Wilson; and his parents, Vernell Yawn and Cecil Yawn. He is survived by: his wife Emma Johnson Wilson; his children, Audrey Kevern (Marc), Alisha Roberson (Ricky) and Jody Wilson (Angela); his grandchildren, Christopher Wilson (Ashley Allen), Melinda Price (Rob), Laci Roberson, Cheryl Marshall (Zachary Brantley), Daphne Claxton (Otis Claxton, III), Matthew Marshall (Ashley Johnson), Luke Wilson, Caleb Wilson and Evan Wilson; and his great grandchildren, Alanna Claxton, Grayson Brantley, Kasandra Allen and Tanner Price.
