He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Thomas Carter and Zemmie Hammock Carter; his wife Geraldine B. Carter; and his siblings, Carlos Carter, Lula Mae Carter Howell, James E. Carter, Herschel Carter, Brunell Carter Willis Coleman, Brinson "Dick" Carter and Chan Carter.
He is survived by: his children, Pam C. Woods (Wesley Sheppard) of Sandersville and Eddie Carter (Kelli) of Sandersville; his grandchildren, Jonathan Woods (Katy), Kyle Woods (Heather) and Annie Lynn Carter; his great grandchildren, Karlee Grant (Dustin) and Morgan Woods; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Maddox Glenn and Madyson Smith; his great great grandchild Korbin Grant; his siblings, Garlon Carter (Arelia) of Soperton and Ocala Carter Morris of Higgston; and also Rudolph Darrisaw.
