McGimsey (Saint Simons Island, Georgia), born in Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on January 23, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her grandparents, Martin Luther Matthews and Ruth Huff Matthews of Sanford, NC.; her former husband Michael Brunson Sholar of Greensboro, NC; her husband Robert Theodore McGimsey of Morganton, NC; her brother Jackson Anderson, Jr.; her children, Laura Sholar Carlton (William Beeland) of St. Simons Island, GA, Michael Brunson Sholar, Jr (Judy) of Nashville, TN and John Anderson Sholar (Eric Sain) of Palm Beach, FL; and her granddaughters, Leigh Carlton Gust (Eric), Lindsay Carlton Robbins (Dave), Claire Carlton Gibson (Patrick), Olivia Leigh Sholar and Landyn Ming Sholar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. McGimsey may be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles or St. Simons United Methodist Church.
