He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Gertrude Morris Smith; and his siblings, Jerry Smith, Tommy Smith and Willie Dean Rue.

He is survived by: his wife Joan M. Smith; and his daughter Charlene Rose (Jeff) of St. Marys, GA..

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Georgia Hospice Care.
