He is survived by: his wife Jetta Bearden Melton; his children, James Michael Melton, Matthew Wallace Melton and Rachael Marie Melton; his siblings, Ruth Melton Byars (John) and Eric Loerker (Lauren); and his nieces and nephews, Paula Marie Smith, Kymberly Byars Stroup, Katey Bearden, Sam Byars, Christian Bearden and Zachery Bearden.
