He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Blalock and Isabelle Edwards Blalock; his son Dean Edward Blalock; his grandson John David Blalock; his daughter-in-law Melinda Blalock; and his brother Frasier Blalock.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Scoggins Blalock; his children, Dwight, LaVerne Blalock, Alvin Blalock and Lawanda (Phil Bearden); his daughter-in-law Evelyn Blalock; his grandchildren, Brandy Blalock, David Blalock (Becca), Darrell Blalock (Alicia), Joey Blalock (Summer), Alvin Blalock, Jr., Scott Blalock, LeAnna Magana (Mario) and Ryan Bearden; his great grandchildren, Addison Blalock, Ashley Blalock, Amanda Harris (Austin), Nick Blalock (Alyssa), Hayden Blalock, Keely Blalock, Kaden Blalock, Aria Magana, Brantly Bearden and Waylon Bearden; and his siblings, Gary Blalock (Debbie) and Gail Tilly (Jim). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
