He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Mooney Kernan and Jack Kernan. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his son Kevin of Chicago; his sisters, Mary K Smith and Kathleen Buck (John) of Chicago; and his brother-in-law Thomas Laffey of Minnetonka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
