He was predeceased by: his parents, James Parsons and Sarah Parsons; his sister Sarah Pauline "Polly" Coffey; his wife Colette Marie Parsons; and his stepchildren, Lois Spadea, Terry Miller and Ron Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Hyslop (Ian) of Woodland Park, CO and John William Parsons (Ellen) of Belvedere, CA; his granddaughter Nikki; his daughter Jan Sewell (Jim) of Marietta, GA; his grandchildren, Cosmo, Calista, Callaway and Carson; his son Paul Parsons of Marietta, GA; his grandchildren, Indi, Rainer, Ashley, Aaron, Milo and Ife Copeland; and his stepchildren, Ellen Belliveau (Dave), Liz Thomas, Sherrie Mundt (Kyle), Chuck Burton and Sherry Miller. He is also survived by his many friends and family but also his sweet rescue dog.
