He is survived by: his children, James Jr. and Jennifer Brown (Alan); his grandchildren, Olivia, Harper, James and Daniel; his siblings, Pennie LaFon (G. Thomas), Charles (Anne), Julia Franzman (Richard) and Mildred Savory (Brian); his cousin Larry McCrary (Suzun); and his uncle Jim'.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
