She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Kernea and Helen Kernea; her siblings, Clyde, Raymond, Kenneth Kernea and Barbara Kernea; her niece Cindy Taylor; her nephew DeeDee Kernea; and her great-niece Megan Taylor.
She is survived by: her husband Michael Basham; her daughters, Susan Morland-Dalton (Ray) and Miranda Brooks (John); her grandchildren, Chelsie Holt (Robert), Stephanda Akins (Adolfo Rodriguez), Steven Brooks, Samuel Akins and Cassandra Brooks (Zack Rybolt); her great grandchildren, Shiloh Keith, Aiden Keith and Moses Holt; and her brother Marshall Kernea (Linda).
