He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. "Bill" Mercer and Jeannetta Mercer of Rossville, GA; and his brother-in-law Glenn Rickett of Ringgold, GA.. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Chestnutt Mercer; and his daughter Stacey Dickinson (family: Chad, John, Sadie). He is also survived by daughters, and four grandchildren.
