He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara; his son Jeff; his mother Leola; his brother Ed; and his parents-in-law, Gene and Ada Hughes.

He is survived by: his children, Rhonda (Rick) of Rossville, GA, Franklin "Junior" of East Ridge, TN and Billy (Karen) of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; his brother Carl (Sue) of Guntersville, AL; and his grandchildren, Brittley, Brooke, Chris, Rachel, Matt, Hannah, Andrew and Tristan. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
