She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Kernea; her sons, Rick Kernea and Eddie Kernea; her children-in-law, Connie Kernea and Gary Grimsley; and her granddaughter Mindy Kernea.
She is survived by: her daughter Donna Grimsley; her brother Chester Hakes; her grandchildren, Rick Kernea II, Alison Kernea (Bryan Basil), Cameron Grimsley (Sarah Cook), Chris Grimsley and Corrie Grimsley Humphries; and her great grandchildren, Trey Kernea, Meghan Kernea, Caitlyn Kernea, Libby Humphries, Owen Humphries and Josslin Grimsley. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
