He was predeceased by: his mother Beatrice Bailey; his grandparents, Dewey Lindsay and Edna Bailey; and his brother Sean Peart. He is survived by: his wife Remonda Joann Bailey; his children, Danny E. Bailey (Amanda), Shannon Bailey and Emmett C. Smith (Mary); his daughter-in-law Shannon Bryson; his brothers, Richard Carroway and Blair Cooley; his brothers-in-law, William Teems and Travis Teems; his grandchildren, Emmett Smith, III, Elijah, Levi and Asher; and his close friends, Jeremy Walker, David White, Marty and Brenda Warner. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes - Fort Oglethorpe Chapel (555 W Cloud Springs Rd, Rossville, GA 30741). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
