It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Novis Yates Smith of Roopville, Georgia, born in Randolph, Alabama, who passed away on September 27, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, R. N. Daniel and Bertha Geter Daniel; her husbands, Durell Yates, Hollin Yates and James Harold Smith; her son Randy Yates; and her siblings, Gleamer Buchanan, Bennie Fletcher, Horris Daniel and Elton Daniel.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Yates, Beth, Rodney East, Donna and Sherri Smith; and her daughter-in-law Muriel Yates. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
