We are sad to announce that on October 6, 2023, at the age of 71, Michael Klyne Motes of Roopville, Georgia, born in Atlanta, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Steven Michael Motes; his parents, Pell Edwards Motes and Lou Metcalf Motes; and his siblings, Anthony Lanier Motes and Ellen Motes Maxwell.

He is survived by: his wife Diane McIntosh Motes; his daughters, Staci Motes Lawrence (Christian) and Betsy Amelia Craig (Chuck); his daughter-in-law Connie Combs Motes; his grandchildren, Mason Lane Lawrence, Mallory Abbigale Lawrence, Magan Emerson Lawrence, Manning McIntosh Lawrence, Emily Smith and Canaan Day; and his sisters, Pella Gibson, Teresa Moss (Leon) and Dale Spruill (Larry).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Bethel East Baptist Church, 18990 County Rd 87, Woodland, AL 36280 where the church will help build a school at the Grandview Baptist Orphanage located in Monrovia-Liberia West Africa or Brown Bag Buddies.
