He was predeceased by: his parents, J. D. Maxwell and Rachel L. Maxwell; and his brother Maurice Maxwell. He is survived by: his wife Leona Maxwell; his children, Shannon Maxwell (Lisa), Jarrod Maxwell (JoAnn) and Kara Maxwell (Jennifer Sands); his grandchildren, Daniel Maxwell, Alex Maxwell, Andrew Maxwell, Dylan Maxwell, Jessica Maxwell, Vanessa Maxwell, Peyton Forrest and Brooklyn Forrest; and his sister-in-law Kathy Beckman.

Memorial contributions may be made to Roopville Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 835 N. Hwy 27, Roopville, GA 30170 or the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Parkway, Marietta, GA 30067.
