He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Alton Davis and Stella Jordan Davis; his sons, Charles Elbert Davis, Jr. and Larry Davis; and his sister Mary Nunnally.

He is survived by: his children, Aleisa Lynn Anderson, Juanita Diana Shelnutt and Jacob Charles Davis; and his sister Donna Johnston. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
