He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeptha Alvin Vaughan and Opal Lee Turner Vaughan; his wife Patricia Ann Hembree Vaughan; and his sons, Harold Theo Vaughan and Darold Lee Vaughan.

He is survived by: his son Davis; his daughter-in-law Sheila Vaughan of Roopville; his grandchildren, Alex Freed, Adam Freed and Alicia Freed; and his great grandchildren, Sawyer and Anabella Freed. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
