He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Leroy Nance Sr. and Edna Naomi Landis Nance; and his sister Beverly Nance Williamson. He is survived by: his wife Diane Marie Nance; his son Michael William Nance; his daughter-in-law Kelly; his daughter Elena Michelle Kammann; his son-in-law Daniel; his grandchildren, Christopher and Kyria; and his sisters, Sharon Baker and Joyce Traxler.
