She was predeceased by: her father Clifford Wilkins. She is survived by: her friend Jeff Holloway; her husband Glenn Alan Getchell; her children, Wilkins Alan Getchell, Mackenzie Marable Getchell, Elizabeth Grace Getchell of Rome, GA, Hamza Abdalfatah of Rome, GA and Laura; her mother Mary Wilkins; her brother Craig Wilkins (Shelley Wilkins); and her niece Shyla Wilkins. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the West Rome Baptist Church (914 Shorter Ave, Rome, GA 30165). A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Summit Quest, a ministry supporting children impacted by cancer, to honor Laura's legacy of love and care for others.
