He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leon Hardin and Barbara Jo Hardin; and his parents-in-law, Hugh Leath and Christine Leath. He is survived by: his wife Anita Hardin; his children, James Taylor Hardin and Holly Cheyenne Hardin; his sister Luan Hicks (Scotty); and his sisters-in-law, Veleta Brown (Barry), Rita Bierkamp (David) and Reva Knowles (Gary). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
