He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Lee King and Arline Bledsoe King; his son Steve King; and his brothers, Curtis Lee King and Phillip King.
He is survived by: his wife Lillie Aboungleen King of Rockmart; his children, Tammy Johnson, Tommy King (Dana), Dana Hayes Bishop (Randy), Donna Hayes Upton (Robert) and John M. Hayes (Norie); his grandchildren, Jessica Graham, Rebecca Lopez, Craig Graham, Erin Rogers, Kyle King of Tiffany Herbert, T. J, Dunn, Tara Bailey, McKenna Dunn, Kelsey Barnett, Lillie Upton of Chase Chandler, P. J and David Hayes; his pet Izzy; and also Boston. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
