She was predeceased by: her parent John Raymond Herring; and her brothers, Melvin Herring, James Herring, Tom Herring and Hill Herring.

She is survived by: her children, Ashley Nicole Smith of Pace and Bryan Smith of Rockmart; her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Rae Smith of Rockmart; her mother Ruby Carr Herring of Rome; her sister Pat Justice of Marble Hill; and her grandsons, Noah Goss, Adam Goss, Brandon Smith and Brody Smith.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson's Disease foundation in memory of Mrs. Smith.
