With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Abernathy Stephenson of Rockmart, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 5, 2025 at the age of 64. She was predeceased by: her parents, B. L. Abernathy and Linda Green Abernathy; and her nephew Cody Stephenson. She is survived by: her children, Brian Stephenson (Leah), Elizabeth Stephenson and Derek Stephenson (Ashley); her grandchildren, Landon, Presley, Ellis Kate, Bryanna, Cole, Clay and Emma; her siblings, Barbara Burnley (David), Janie Abernathy and Lee Poteat (Jimmy); and her nieces and nephews, Ashley Morris, Melissa Strickland, Kayla McArthur and John Stephenson.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home (304 W Elm St, Rockmart, GA 30153). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
