She was predeceased by: her husband Guy W. Thornton; her son Barry Ray Thornton; and her siblings, Jewel Proctor, Ellen Holmes and Ernest Forsyth.

She is survived by: her sons, Allan Thornton of Aragon and Eddie Wayne Thornton (Libby) of Rockmart; and her grandchildren, Pamela Thornton and Rosa Thornton.
