He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Thomas and Alma Hazel Cavender; and his siblings, Tom (Naomi) and Sandra (Jim Keiffer). He is survived by: his wife Ruth Genese Carter; his children, Mark Cavender (Carla), Kim DeLoach (John) and Jeff Cavender (Ginger); his grandchildren, Kevin Dukes (Mallory), Kyle Dukes (Sarah), Savannah Martin (Woody), Abigail Jones (Drew), Lindsey Cavender and Katie Cavender; his great grandchildren, Noah Dukes, Grayson Dukes, Scarlett Dukes, Kinsley Dukes, Lucas Dukes, Lucy Dukes and Mabel Dukes; and his brothers, Steve Cavender and Chuck Cavender (Victoria).
