She was predeceased by: her son Edgar Joseph Cole; her siblings, Dorthyleen Sweat (Howard), Howard Shead (Mildred), James Shead (Louise), Odis Shead (Eunice) and Annie Shead; and her son-in-law Kenneth L. Shirley, Sr..

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Powell (Don Powell) of New Georgia, Rita Guyton (Steve Guyton) of Woodstock and Cathy Cole of Rockmart; her grandchildren, Johnny Shirley (Lee), Michelle Ragsdale of Dallas, Kim Craton (Mike Craton) of Dallas, Mike Guyton (Alison) of Euharlee, Dana Cook (Jimmy) of Rockmart, Marie Parson (David) of Dallas, Leslie Cole of Dallas, Suzanne Blalock (Ronnie) of Dallas and April Skinner of Dallas; her siblings-in-law, Bobby Cole (Joyce) of Powder Springs and Bessie Burt of Temple, GA.; and her great grandchildren, Mike Guyton, Johnny Shirley, Dylan Parson, Mike Craton, Hunter Cook, Cole Ragsdale, Matthew McPherson, Kenneth Shirley, Dalton Parson, Andrew Shirley, Trent Craton, Troy Craton, Austin Blalock, Jimmy Cook and Noah Guyton. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the North Paulding Baptist Church Building Fund or the New Georgia Baptist Church Building Fund.
