He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmond Earl Fennell and Willie Mae Tant Fennell; and his siblings, Deane Coffman Cochran, Milton Fennell, Vernon Fennell and Duane Fennell.

He is survived by: his sons, Richard and Kelly Fennell of Rockmart. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
