He was predeceased by: his parents, E. G. Copeland, Sr. and Virginia Gatliff Copeland; his brother E. G. Copeland, Jr. (Betty Carol Copeland); and his sons, Michael David Copeland and Kyle Clark Pearson.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Murdock Copeland; his children, William Stephens Copeland (Cyndi), Millie Copeland Tritt (Nathan), Kathryn Copeland Henley (Clint), Michelle Harris (Wesley) and Tammy Fearing; his grandchildren, Cassie Copeland Lester, Jacob Copeland, Madison Ambrosetti (Aaron), Andrew Kyle Pearson, Justin Gibson, Hannah Gibson, Andrew Harris, Steven Fearing, Sara Fearing and Aidan Goodwin; and his siblings, Raymond Copeland (Doris), Patrick Copeland (Judy) and Rebecca Ham (John). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
