He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jethru Barnes and Clara Josephine Drew Barnes; and his brothers, Donald Barnes, Johnny Barnes and Jerry Barnes.

He is survived by: his sons, Tony Barnes (Jody) and Jeff Barnes; his grandchildren, Tyler Barnes (Brittni), Kyser Pritchett (Jacob), Tayler Barnes, Baxter Barnes (Annie), Brevin Barnes and Barclay Barnes; and his great grandchildren, Kash Pritchett, Krew Pritchett and Kennedy Barnes.
