With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billy Gene Waters (Rockmart, Georgia), who passed away on June 17, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his son Brent Eugene Waters; his parents, William Berry and Clara Eliot Fennell Waters; his siblings, Taft, Edgar Waters, Vera Waters Smith, Velma Waters Ogden and Hilda Mae Waters; his brother-in-law Donald Eugene Tate; and his son-in-law Michael Steven Evans.
He is survived by: his friend Floyd; his wife Laura Janet Tate Waters of Rome; his granddaughter Laura Katherine Waters McKinney (Wallace) of Nashville; his great grandchild Mary Wallace McKinney of Nashville; his grandchildren, William Berry Waters (Jana) of Rome, Steven Brent Evans (McKenna) of Rome and Alexis Claire Evans of Asheville; and his brother-in-law Claude Lee Tate (Doris). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rockmart First United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Waters.
